Older projects and awards that were more relevant during high school.
I run a YouTube channel under the name "Haasio Draws" that has 20 thousand subscribers.
I post art, drawing tutorials and animations, sometimes under environmental or herpetological activism.
In addition to my YouTube channel, I also have a DeviantArt account, where I take character drawing or design commissions and post miscellaneous work. I occasionally host art contests on DeviantArt to spread awareness about climate change and inspire my audience to send messages through their artwork.
My preferred medium is digital, though I also create acrylic paintings. The majority of these are donated to auction fundraisers hosted by the Waquoit Bay Junior Sailing Program or the nonprofit reptile rescue, The Gecko Sanctuary.
Since April 2018, I have been documenting sightings of local wildlife. These sightings are uploaded to iNaturalist, an online community of naturalists that contribute to research by recording sightings of wildlife.
Starting June 2018, I worked with Grassroots Wildlife Conservation to raise and release the turtles during 10th grade Biology class. As of June 2019, I've helped release eight Blanding's turtles.
In March 2019, I published an article to the REPTILES Magazine about it, and in April 2019, I was invited to an elementary school in Holliston, MA, to talk about my experience with Blanding's turtle conservation to students.
I have been sailing since 2013, and have sailed with Waquoit Bay Yacht Club (2014-2019) and CBI's race team (2019). I participated in an opti regatta hosted by Falmouth Yacht Club in 2016 (Skippering), and the Hyannis Invitational Regatta in 2017 (420 Crew).
I have experience working with captive amphibians, reptiles, and fish. These are typically rehomed to me as unwanted pets, often with minor health complications. Due to this, I've learned to treat minor ailments such as minor respiratory infections, shell rot, fin rot, and dropsy. I've used my captive turtles as ambassador animals during presentations. I have also done some volunteer work at Malvern Veterinary Hospital.
I started playing the piano in 2008. I passed the Grade 5 ABRSM Piano exam (2016), and currently play the viola, kalimba and Chinese zither for fun. I played viola with a volunteer chamber group for nursing homes and art shows (2017-2018). I have perfromed with the Weston High School Chamber Orchestra as a violist (2019-2020).
Between 2015-2016, I wrote articles for the Weston Life magazine as a student writer.
